Medical education advocacy organization Do No Harm released its merit-based ranking of US Medical schools on Sept 24.
Michigan gets a dishonorable mention in yesterday's email.
Last month, Do No Harm unveiled its new initiative, the Center for Accountability in Medicine, along with the Medical School Excellence Index, a comprehensive ranking of allopathic medical schools according to how they prioritize academic achievement and merit over political ideology.
The Index ranks medical schools according to three main criteria: academic excellence, transparency, and rejection of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
“The Center for Accountability in Medicine and the Medical School Excellence Index are urgently needed to combat the tide of wokeness in healthcare. To eliminate DEI’s divisive influence in medicine, we must recognize medical schools that focus on excellence and expose those that promote political activism.”
-Ian Kingsbury, PhD, Director of the Center for Accountability in Medicine
The University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine earned the top spot in our rankings with a perfect 100/100 points.
Meanwhile, there was a four-way tie for the lowest-ranked medical schools between the University of California, Davis School of Medicine; Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine; the University of New Mexico School of Medicine; and the Central Michigan University College of Medicine.
