In my part of Michigan, AAA is known as a tool of Lansing, when it is thought of at all. Services are disconnected from local need, disjointed within the program itself, and local board members are hamstrung trying to change anything.

This is not unexpected of top-down planning. Still, someone needs to ask how true this is of Michigan's other 82 counties' agencies, and whether the federal and state acts should be repurposed. A tax cut, say, or Medicare bonus.

Seniors have lived long enough to know how spend their money better than elected officials do. Seems to me, they deserve to.
