MDHHS Launches Cancer Investigation Website
MDHHS’s Environmental Health Bureau has launched a new website as part of their Cancer Investigation Program. The program identifies and investigates unusual patterns and clusters of cancer across the state that may be associated with environmental exposures.
This work is required by the Michigan Public Health Code (MCL 333.2221) which states, in part, that MDHHS "shall make investigations and inquiries as to... the causes, prevention, and control of environmental health hazards, nuisances, and sources of illness.”
Site features include:
- Information on cancer clusters
- What the investigation process looks like
- How to report a cancer concern to MDHHS
- Additional information and FAQs
