Michigan House committees announced today a change in the way concerned citizens may submit testimony for bill hearings. The transition should streamline access to records and potentially prevent errors and omissions.

Committee testimony and position card submission for the Michigan House of Representatives will be transitioning to an online submission portal on the House website starting August 3rd, 2026.

When the notice for the scheduled committee is posted, online portal access for each item on a committee meeting’s agenda will be available. In addition to the submission portal, testimony and position cards will still be accepted in person at the committee meeting.

The implementation of the new portal means that submission of testimony and position cards via email will no longer be accepted beginning August 3rd, 2026.

As the date approaches, a reminder regarding this transition will be sent, which will include instructions and the link to the new submission portal.
