What's a half a billion dollars, when we're increasing a $37Bn budget by $2Bn-plus?

Is anyone in our legislature exercising restraint on spending power?

Just as importantly, where do the Executive, House, and Senate secure individual life, liberty, and property rights, or violate them?

With competing MDHHS Budget bills, we're about to find out.

Senate Bill 767 - Senate Fiscal Analysis

House Bill 5556 - House Fiscal Analysis

According to the Michigan Health and Hospital Association (MHA), the House bill

... continues vital funding for Medicaid, rural and critical access hospitals, obstetrical services and the Healthy Michigan Plan. Supporting Michigan’s Medicaid program will help maintain access to care for underserved populations throughout Michigan. Additionally, the budget proposal includes funding to provide reimbursement for peer recovery coaches in the hospital setting to enhance substance use disorder services.
