For over 100 years, Michigan death details, including cause, have been recorded at the county level, by elected officials accountable to local voters.
Think carefully before you answer.
- Should MI law force county medical examiners to register all deaths on a state website?
- Should MDHHS run such a registry?
- Should MDHHS have power to mandate ME training to use the site?
- Should cause of death ever be determined by the state, ie, by MDHHS or an MDHHS employee?
These questions relate to the first bill.
However, do watch the presentations. They often provide an inside view of special interest wish lists.
