Deckerville Community Hospital, Hills and Dales Healthcare, Marlette Regional Hospital, and The Heartlands Marlette Senior Living have implemented the non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) they signed at the end of October to combine organizations. The consolidated entity will be known as the Aspire Rural Health System:

What a tragic loss for local decision-making and healthcare choice.
Even more devastating is the greater ease for a Corewell or Michigan Medicine to scoop up the whole new system.
This is one reason I hate the constant deluge of Michigan bills destabilizing healthcare. It's always harder on the little guys.
