These days, physical therapists have to get a doctorate-level education. Wonder if the Michigan legislature will ever repeal the prescription requirement for patients to access their services?
All in all, this agenda bears watching. Michigan healthcare has an awful lot of micromanagement going on.

SB 107 Sen. Santana Insurance: health insurers; coverage for immunization agents and certain laboratory tests administered and ordered by a pharmacist; require.
SB 135 Sen. Hertel Insurance: health insurers; compliance with affordable care act coverage; modify.
SB 136 Sen. Anthony Health: testing; notification of dense breast tissue; eliminate, and provide for other general amendments to the use of radiation machines for mammography.
SB 144 Sen. Santana Health occupations: physical therapists; prescription requirement for physical therapy treatment; eliminate, and make other modifications to the practice of physical therapy.
And any other business properly before the committee.
The MI House takes up this physical therapy prescribing bill.
