H Family & Vets Sept 2026: Adult Foster Care bills

There are about 4,800 licensed adult foster care homes throughout the state of Michigan - or somewhat over 2000, depending on which source you use. These homes serve nearly 40,000 residents.

That means a lot of ripples for the House Committee on Families and Veterans to consider as it takes up a package of Adult Foster Care bills tomorrow, with Rep. Kathy Schmaltz, Chair.

Will they make care more expensive? Lighten the regulotry load? Time will tell.
