HBs 4509, 4591, SB 303
A legislator on the R side claims health licensing compacts provide reciprocity. This is untrue.
Reciprocity is a simple state decision to honor another state's license. No new rules, agencies, or government authority.
These compacts provide new, unaccountable expert commission control over clinicians, and our healthcare freedom position opposing them has not changed.
HB 4484 is different.
It's rare to see bills that limit MDHHS power. This one rolls back a national certificate requirement MDHHS placed on Speech Language Pathology for Medicaid reimbursement.
HB 4558
Online contact lens exam and purchase is a huge money-saver for patients.
Unfortunately, Michigan's ophthalmology lobby is powerful enough to neutralize bills like this every time to date. All it takes is a clause or two.... watch and see.
Follow-up hearing.
